Alchemyheart ran over the moor and turned at the top of a hill to look over his camp. Winclan, his home and soon, his complete responsibility, was infront of him. Sadly the leader before him had passed on fighting a dog from a twoleg place. He shuddered at the thought of the giant teeth snapping infront of him. He was making the trip to moonstone. He was going to be a leader. He took a deep breath and turned away from his home. "When I return...I will be leader..." he vowed. "And windclan will be the strongest clan the forest has ever seen." with that he turned and shot across the moorland to make his promise true.
After he arived at mother mouth he took a deep breath. He was tired from not eating before he came and the trek across the moor. He walked forward and plunged into the darkness. He felt stuffy and cold all around him. He felt his whiskers brush the sides of the cave. The walk was long and he didn't know when it would end. The path wove down as he felt blind int he darkness. Then a blinding bright white light was before him as he rounded another corner and stumbled into an open cavernish cave. He blinked trying to get his eyes used to the brightness. After his eyes fully adjusted he looked around him. The cave was completely white from the light and the stone sat in the middle of the cave. It shone as if the heart and soul of every warrior in starclan was before him. As if he had done this before he curled up on the ground by the stone and touched his nose to it. He felt his whole body go cold and he fell asleep soon after.
He woke in a clearing that he had never seen before but could reconise some of the scents around him. Then he was filled with sorrow as he thought of the familiar scent in the air. The warm smell brought back old memories. "Amberfeather..." he wispered. Then a young beautiful she-cat with amber eyes and a dark brown pelt emerged. Her pelt luminated like a star before him. She ran her tail down his flank to calm his sorrow.
"Hello Alchemyheart..." she mewed. Her voice was soft like a mother tending to her kits but full of passion and love for the cat standing before her. "Starclan have been watching you..." she meowed as she touched her pelt to his so they brushed with each other.
"I thought I would never see you again..." he wispered in shock. "When I saw the dog....when you..." he couldn't find the words. She was his mate not to long ago. She joined Starclan a little after their leader passed on. She was killed by the same dog that had killed their leader. They where on a hunting patrol and saw their leader in danger and the dog came back and ambushed her. Visions of the dog clamping down on her made him shudder. He could never forget the look in her eyes when she stared into his for the last time. She touched noses with him and he flet his whole body become warm.
"It was meant to be..." she wispered but couldn't completely hide her sorrow as if she read the memory in his mind. "It was the will of Starclan." it sounded as though she was trying to convince not only him but herself as well.
"I have missed you so much..." he meowed quietly. She nodded and brushed her tail over his flank once more. Then another familiar smell flooded over him. He saw the starry grey pelt of his former leader. "Galaxystar!" he exclamed as the old tom walked over to him. The old cat nodded and sat down. He was followed by seven other cats that he could not reconise. Amberfeather was looking into his eyes but tore herself away from him to go sit with the others.
"Alchemyheart..." Galaxystar spoke clearly. "You have proven yourself a warrior for your clan, and then a deputy...." he gaze on him never wavered. "Now you have proven yourself to become a leader..." He nodded to the old cat.
"I will do my best to make the clan better than it has ever been." he vowed before all of the cats. Some cats exchanged glances and Amberfeather's eyes glittered as she met his gaze. He tried to look away from her but couldn't. He didn't know when he would ever see her agian.
"Alchemyheart..." one of the cats spoke up. He had a firey red pelt and green eyes. "Are you ready to acept your nine lives and leader name?"
"I am..." he meowed straightening up and ripping his gaze from Amberfeather, he fixed it on the red tom infront of him. Galaxystar walked forward and stood infront of his old deputy.
"I Galaxystar, former leader of Windclan present this warrior and deputy as a leader in his turn. I comdemn him to you as Alchemystar. He has learned and followed your noble code and will do so for the many moons he shall serve his clan. I present him to the whole of Starclan and let him be reconised by his destiny." the words sunk in as Alchemystar listened to them. Galaxystar rested his head on top of Alchemystar's and the young leader gave the old cat a respectful lick on his shoulder. Galaxystar backed away. He began to chant "Alchemystar! Alchemystar!" the other cats joined in, Amberfeather was the loudest. Soon they died away and the red tom stood up and walked forward.
"It is now time to present you with your nine lives." he meowed. He smelled of thunderclan but his pelt glowed like the sun and stars combined. "I Firestar give Alchemystar the life of bravery. He may use it to protect his clan and defeat the odds against him." Alchemystar started to feel his body fill with power. He felt as if he could defeat a whole pack of dogs by himself. "No matter who you are...or where you come from...Anything is possible." he meowed. Alchemystar didn't understand why but the words seemed to mean alot more to the Firey leader than he could understand. Then Amberfeather walked forward tuching noses with him before she began to give him his second life.
"I Amberfeather give Alchemystar the live of love. May he use it to be understanding and compassonate to all his clanmates and any cat in need." He began to feel his pelt tingle with affecting as she ran her tail down his flank. Then the last of the cats all presented him with his lives. He felt every emotion he had ever felt go through him at once when he recieved his last life from a cat known as Bluestar. He felt stronger and he held his head high. He was a leader. All of the Starclan cats started to fade away into the sky. He looked up and noticed how large and close the stars looked. When he looked around every cat was gone. He felt a sudden lonelyness.
"Amberfeather..." he wispered to himself sadly. Then a starry cat began to appear agian. Amberfeather apeared before him. He felt his heart warm.
"I'm not saposed to be here..." she wispered as she ran up to him to touch noses. "but I had to come and tell you..." she brushed against him. "I will try my best to visit your dreams when I can...I don't know how many times I can do that but I will try my best..." he rubbed his head on hers and let out a loud purr of sorrow.
"I wish you could be with me again..." she nodded and curled her tail with his. She looked around quickly and wispered into his ear.
"I have to go now..." he felt pain shoot through his whole body. He could see the sadness in her eyes. "I love you..." he meowed. "I don't care if all of Starclan hears me say it..."
"I love you to..." she looked into his eyes one last time.
"I will never let go..." he wispered his meow cracked with sorrow as they touched noses again. Amberfeather's body started do fade away. Everything around him started to go black.
"I will never let go..." he heard her voice wisper back to him before he woke in mothermouth infront of the moonstone. Her scent still lingered around him and he could hear her voice still in his ears. He let out a yowl of sadness before he got up to make the journey back to his camp.
"I will never let go..." he wispered one last time as he looked back at the moonstone. Then he plunged into darkness.
